FC Revival Crowned Champions as Football, Family and Community Share the Stage

The 4th 35+ Himalaya Cup turned Honeygo Run Regional Park into a meeting place for competition, remembrance and community—bringing together more than 200 players, hundreds of spectators and hundreds of children across a memorable August weekend.

Before the first ball moved, the tournament paused. Players and organizers stood together in mourning for climbers who lost their lives on Broad Peak in Pakistan, a tragedy felt across the mountaineering community and remembered by Nimsdai and fellow climbers. That tribute set a tone of perspective and respect before two full days of football began.

Twelve teams, one clear standard

Twelve 35+ teams competed across three groups, with group play feeding an eight-team knockout bracket. From the opening fixtures through the quarter-finals and semi-finals, the event ran to completion without controversy or conflict. The real achievement was not simply finishing the schedule; it was doing so with competitive intensity and mutual respect intact.

A final decided with authority

VA Rhinos reached the final in their first Himalaya Cup appearance, but FC Revival produced the decisive performance. Chabi Luitel opened the scoring in the 25th minute, Milan Gorkhali added a second six minutes later, and Vesraj Subedi struck twice after the interval to complete a 4–0 victory.

Kids Fest: a tournament within the tournament

Football was only one part of the weekend. Hundreds of supporters from the Nepalese community came to watch, reconnect and enjoy the tournament, while hundreds of children stepped onto their own stage. The Kids Fest was not a side note: it was a central part of the weekend, with youth finals, team honors, individual trophies, medals and certificates.

Namaste Kids were crowned U14 champions, with Spartan Kids finishing as runners-up. Namaste also lifted the U10 title, while Himalaya finished as runners-up. Across both age groups, the children played in front of families and supporters who gave their matches the same energy and respect as the senior competition.

Winners, runners-up, participating players and volunteers received medals and certificates presented by President Saroj KC, General Secretary Dibe Gurung and senior advisors Nabin Gurung, Jyoti Ranabhat, Chok Gurung, Rakesh Gurung and Raj Kumar Shrestha.

Partners who made the stage possible

The fourth edition was strengthened by the support of its sponsors and community partners. Main sponsor Top Extreme and second sponsor GK Commercial helped the club deliver a tournament with meaningful prizes, organized competition and a wider family festival. Their support—and the time contributed by volunteers—turned a football event into a platform the whole community could share.
